05/07/24

When Missing Link Convoy was released not too long ago many fans wondered if Takara Tomy would be following up with more figures representing G1 designs with modern day articulation.  Now thanks to Takara Tomy Mall we have our answer in the form of two new reveals!  Takara Tomy Mall has posted listings for Missing Link Bumble (aka Bumblebee) and Cliff (aka Cliffjumper).  Each figure is listed at 5940 Yen (about $38 USD) with a release date of November 2024.  Check out the pics and info below from Takara Tomy Mall and translated via Google Translate:

Transformers Missing Link C-03 Bumble
Lost dreams are linked across time! A virtual reprint version of the "Missing Link" series that may have existed in that era. Bumble appears in the third installment.  What if the first Bumble was fully poseable? With the image of the original size, texture, and nostalgia, it has been commercialized with a completely new design!

The ideal Bumble toy has been released, with the size, deformation pattern, and basic structure using some die-cast alloys following the original Bumble toy, but with movable joints for posing and updated gimmicks drawn in the anime. Even the compact box-shaped packaging and Styrofoam tray pay homage to the era, and even more than the reprint version, it brings back the excitement of opening a Transformers product in the 1980s. Bumble, the face of the small Transformers "Minibot Corps", is transformed from a Volkswagen Beetle into a robot, and the car mode is commercialized under an official license from Volkswagen. Each joint, which had limited posing in products at the time, has been changed to movable, allowing you to pose freely. A newly designed laser gun with plated specifications is included as a reproduction from the anime scene, and can be stored inside in car mode. The familiar "secret emblem" is also attached to the robot body, and when you warm it with your finger, the army mark will appear. Includes foil stickers for the Cybertron mark and chest mecha details that the user can attach as desired. A joint hole for a stand (sold separately) has been added to the back of Bumble, allowing you to display it in action poses. The package illustration is a new one inspired by the time, and a collection card featuring the same illustration is also included. (Total height in robot mode: 76mm)

Transformers Missing Link C-04 Cliff
Lost dreams are linked across time! A virtual reprint version of the "Missing Link" series that may have existed in that era. Cliff, who has a hot-blooded personality, appears in the fourth installment. What if it was reposable? With the image of the original size, texture, and nostalgia, it has been commercialized with a completely new design!

The ideal Cliff toy has been released, with the size, deformation pattern, and basic structure using some die-cast alloys following the original Cliff toy, but with movable joints for posing and updated gimmicks drawn in the anime. Even the compact box-shaped packaging and Styrofoam tray pay homage to the era, bringing back the excitement of opening a Transformers product in the 1980s even more than the reprint version. Like Bumble, Cliff is a member of the small transformer "Minibot Army" and has shown impressive performance throughout many episodes. Although the product has almost the same transformation system as Bumble, about 80% of the main body is specially designed to reproduce the detailed differences from Bumble. Each joint, whose posing was limited in products at the time, has been changed to movable, allowing you to pose freely. A newly modeled photon rifle with plating specifications is included as a reproduction from the anime scene. In car mode, it can be stored inside. Also included is a new model of the plated bazooka used in the first episode of the first anime when they launched a surprise attack on the Decepticon army while they were building their base. The familiar "secret emblem" is also attached to the robot body, and when you warm it with your finger, the army mark will appear. A foil sticker with the Cybertron mark is included that the user can attach as desired. A joint hole for a stand (sold separately) can be added to the back of the cliff to display it in action poses. The package illustration is a new one inspired by the time, and a collection card featuring the same illustration is also included. (Total height in robot mode: 76mm)
