Transformers One is the upcoming theatrical Transformers film due to be released in the United States on September 13, 2024. The film is set in the past on Cybertron before the Great Wars. It focuses on the relationship between Orion Pax (the future Optimus Prime) and D-16 (the future Megatron). A similar story played out in the G1 episode "War Dawn". Producer Lorenzo Di Bonaventura has suggested that this film is intended to be the first of a trilogy of films.
This past week Paramount Pictures held a presentation at CinemaCon 2024 where the audience was shown footage from the film. The film features a start studded cast including:
- Chris Hemsworth: Orion Pax / Optimus Prime
- Brian Tyree Henry: D-16 / Megatron
- Scarlett Johansson: Elita-1
- Keegan-Michael Key: B-127
- Jon Hamm: Sentinel Prime
- Laurence Fishburne: Alpha Trion
While no photos of the actual animation were made available, Hasbro PR has provided several photos of those in attendance who included Chris Hemsworth and Brian Tyree Henry. Also on hand were Director Josh Cooley, Producers Lorenzo Di Bonaventura, Mark Vahradian and Aaron Dem along with Executive Producer Zev Foreman! BWTF will provide more updates and information about this movie as it becomes available.
