A rumor has floated for a while now that G1 Optimus Prime would see a reissue as part of the 40th Anniversary of Transformers. He also made an appearance at SDCC 2024. Now thanks to Australian retailer JB Hi-Fi we have our first look at this reissue! Like recent reissues, this one uses the cartoon as the foundation of its deco. If it follows the path of other recent reissues, there will be no stickers included (but this remains to be seen). Previous "Retro" exclusives were Walmart exclusives in the United States, so I would not be surprised if this one followed suit. JB Hi-Fi lists this at $104.98 AUD (about $70 USD) with a release time frame in October 2024, but keep in mind this is for that specific market. This has yet to be listed in the United States.
