Last year, Niantic (the company behind the popular Pokémon Go) announced they were working on a Transformers game titled "Heavy Metal". Now, a year later the game has been cancelled. According to Bloomberg News, Niantic is cancelling several projects and cutting 8% of its staff. From the article:
The canceled projects include Heavy Metal, a Transformers game that Niantic announced last year, and Hamlet, a collaboration between Niantic and Punchdrunk, the theatrical company behind the popular interactive play Sleep No More. The other two projects were called Blue Sky and Snowball.
There was a limited Beta of the game which some people on Youtube did get to test out, but the game never progressed beyond that. You can check out promotional images for the game released last year in the gallery below.
