In the past few weeks it has been revealed mostly through leaks and a listing on BigBadToyStore that Hasbro and Mattel have teamed up in a way that fans from the 80's may have never imagined, creating a line of toys crossing over the Hot Wheels and Transformers brands! At first, fans thought the line would just be non-transforming vehicles painted and branded as Transformers characters, but in a surprise move Mattel has posted an entry on its "Mattel Creations" site revealing a transformable Optimus Prime! It is very uncommon for Takara and Hasbro to license out transforming figures to other companies so this is a big surprise.
This figure will be going up for preorder on May 21, 2024 9am PT but it will set you back a hefty $80! Whether or not you order it, you can check out the official info and mirrored images below:
