"Transformers Universe" was originally set in a time frame where Unicron captured Transformers from all eras and universes to force them into conflict, thereby creating energy that he could feed upon to resurrect himself. The line utilized previously released sculpts in new decos, sometimes as brand new characters. In 2008, a new version of "Universe" was established, used to celebrate the Transformers line utilizing many classic G1 characters such as Sunstreaker and Galvatron.
