Generation 2 begins, largely focusing on redecos and retools of pre-existing figures. Meanwhile in other parts of the world some previous late-era G1 figures are repurposed as G2 while some former Japanese exclusive figures are given new decos, accessories and identities.

Hot on the heels of this morning's Rodimus Prime reveal, Hasbro has unleashed pre-orders for a previously unannounced Generations Selects figure: G2 Ramjet! Featuring the character's snazzy purple and black deco based on the 1993 figure, this figure joins G2 Megatron as another figure paying homage to the unique era after G1.

During the Generation 2 era there were many ideas proposed for the line before it began to pivot towards the era of Cyberjets and Go-Bots. Among these ideas were redecos of previous figures including the Dinobots. While a few of the Dinobots did ultimately come out in the line, there were some decos that were not used.
