Machine Wars Transformers

Name: Megaplex
Transformation: F-22 Raptor
Motto: "The skies belong to me!"
Megaplex was built to function as a clone for Megatron, a strategy designed to confuse enemy Autobots who seek to shoot down the elusive Decepticon leader. But Megaplex is more than just a decoy, he is equipped with powerful attack weapons that make him a formidable warrior in any air battle. And in robot mode, he only gets tougher!

Although eight basic sized toys were released for Machine Wars, they were actually four basic molds, each with a redeco. Megatron's redeco was a character named Megaplex. Megaplex used the same mold as Megatron in different colors. If you wish to read a more detailed review of this toy, please read Megatron's review. This review will cover the changes made to the toy for its release.

Vehicle Mode:
In vehicle mode, Megaplex is colored mostly metallic grey. Running along the wings of the jet are black stripes. On top of the left wing is a sticker showing a triangle with blue inside and a white and black frame. On the right wing is a sticker with a blue "L" shape and two white rectangles. The cockpit is silver. It would have been nice to see a better color chosen for the cockpit. The silver almost blends in with the rest of the nose cone. The metallic grey is a nice color however, making the jet look a bit more realistic.

Robot Mode:
In robot mode, Megaplex is a combination of the metallic grey from the vehicle mode and an aqua green color for his upper arms and legs. His robot head is dark blue with a metallic grey face. Like Megatron, his eyes are silver, due to Hasbro not wanting to use translucent plastic for "light piping" in the eyes. Of the two color schemes this toy was released in, I prefer this one. The metallic grey works very well as an overall color, and in some ways looks more like a "Megatron" color than the light blue that Megatron has.

As with Megatron, this is a cool toy, but if you can get Wind Sheer instead (who is out as I write this), you may like that color scheme better. B
