Transformers Car Robots Gushar Toy Review
Gushar is a repaint of the Beast Wars Transmetals 2 Spittor toy. This review will cover the changes made to the Spittor toy for this release. For more a more detailed review of this toy, please read my Transmetals 2 Spittor review.
The Transmetal 2 Spittor toy was colored in shades of blues and greens to give it an exotic and dangerous look. Gushar is no exception to this, but he uses a very different color scheme. Gushar's primary color is dark red with black used for his upper legs. The tips of his claws are spray painted silver. The tri-claw mounted on his back is vacume metallized blue, offering a very eye catching contrast to the dark red. Surrounding the tri-claw are mechanical details spray painted in gold. This helps bring out the details from being lost in a sea of dark red. In a very nice touch, the edges of his rear body section are trimmed with a lavender color.
Gushar's beast mode head is nicely detailed. His eyes are a vacume metallized green while the top of his head is vacume metallized orange. All these colors work well together to give Gushar a look of a poisonous frog.
Gushar's robot mode carries over a lot of color from the beast mode. Not much new is revealed, but the color combination still works. More black becomes visible on his upper body and waist. His robot head is red and silver with green detailing on what appears to be an eye on top of his head. Lift up the tri-claw weapon and you will find that not only are the edges of that section gold, but the area under the weapon as well.
Gushar is a very nice repaint and given the choice, this is my preferred color scheme for this toy. With the Transmetal 2 Spittor out of production at this point, it will cost you more than normal for either toy, so if you can get either one, I recommend them. B+
