At an end?

First of all...BWTF is back FTW!!!

*clears throat* Okay, guess with the movie coming out and no new news about Universe it's going to go into lapse again. I was almost shocked when my local Wal-Mart, which is always the last to stock transformers, actually had Hot Shot, Ratchet, and Dinobot on the pegs. Naturally I grabbed them all. I was so glad to finally get these guys but at the same time I got that sinking feeling, knowing that there won't be any more Universe figures for some time. I had hoped it might go on throughout the year as the 25th anniversary line, but looks like that's a no go.

All that's left for me is Ratchet and Henkei Red Alert. I suppose there's always hope that Henkei may continue it, but it seems unlikely. Still, it would be nice if they retooled Prowl into Jazz for me :) Not looking forward to the movie line so much this time around. Haven't even looked much at the figures I bought from the last movie, though I really liked them at first. Guess I'll be waiting for the inevitable third run with Universe when theres more filler time available.

Sort of the "reserve" line

It is sad that "Universe" will be put on hold. However, I like the idea that it serves as a great filler line. It was never intended to go beyond the original 2006 line, so the fact that we got anything beyond that is fantastic. I expect it to appear again some time in 2010-11 when they'll need another line to help take up space on the shelves. :)

Oh well in that case, I can wait till the next go round. It'll give me something to look forward to. As it is, we here on the west coast are still waiting for the legends class minibots (Warpath, Wheelie, Hot Rod, etc..) I just hope we don't get yet another Starscream next time around. I really would have preferred we get more new characters out of this round instead of Starscream and Acid Storm. I really could have lived without those two.

Transformers 2, GI Joe:

Transformers 2, GI Joe: Rise of Cobra, Star Trek, X-Men Origins, Harry Potter, and Terminator: Salvation. With all of these movies coming out there's going to be a fierce battle for space in the toy aisles. But it's sad that Universe/Classics is getting cut yet again. Bah. I can understand why they do it, but that doesn't mean I have to like it. With the releases of Titaniums Prowl and Grimlock I was hoping for a revival of that line too, but it doesn't look that was ever gonna happen.

Rumor is the next wave of classics will have Drift. Not that I care about Drift.
