Movies: Artist JP Targete reveals artwork of the unproduced "Transformers" live action film concept "Operation Skyfire"
Long before the release of "The Last Knight", Paramount gathered a group of artists and writers together to create potential ideas for future Transformers films that would be set outside the "main" storyline featuring smaller stories akin to the current "Bumblebee" movie. One of these was "Operation Skyfire", which would have been a retro military film. Artwork from this did pop up in the extras for "The Last Knight", but now thanks to artist JP Targete, we now have a crisp, clear look at the artwork he had developed for this never-produced concept film! Posted on Artstation, these beautiful illustrations are a fascinating look into what could have been. According to Targete:
Transformers Paramount writers room concept art
A few years back me and a few other concept artist were invited by Paramount to participate in the "Transformers writer's room". We were there to help the writers visualize their unique "Transformers" movies. The results were exciting and fresh and gave a "new" take on the Transformer's Mythology. The images you see are a result of one of the "Transformer MOVIES" That was presented to Paramount and Steven Spielberg. The images can be seen on the special features of the "Transformers The Last Knight" Blue-ray. I was honored to be a part of this.
