Megan Fox discusses gaining weight for "Revenge of the Fallen"

According to China Daily "Revenge of the Fallen" actress Megan Fox gained weight before reprising her role as Mikaela Banes. This runs contrary to popular belief when it comes to Hollywood films. However, as the article points out "Renee Zellweger famously went from a dress size six to a 14 for the Bridget Jones films, while Oscar-winning actress Charlize Theron gained 28lbs for her Oscar-winning role in Monster.".

"Revenge of the Fallen" toys to debut at Botcon 2009!

Hasbro has released news that a limited quantity of "Revenge of the Fallen" figures will be made available at Botcon 2009! See below for the statement sent to Transformers venues this morning:

Hasbro’s excited to announce that Transformers fans attending BotCon 2009 in Pasadena, California, later this month (May 28-31) will have the opportunity to be some of the first fans anywhere to buy all-new Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen movie toys!

Transformers Marvel Crossovers Iron Man & Spider-Man set released

The deluxe Marvel Crossovers set featuring transformable versions of Spider-Man and Iron Man has been released! I spotted this boxed set featuring two of Marvel's most popular characters at the Forbidden Planet comic book shop in New York, NY. Expect it in wide release any day now!

Hasbro Transformers site revamped for "Revenge of the Fallen"

The official Transformers web site by Hasbro has been given a face lift in preparation for the release of "Revenge of the Fallen"! The site now features an introduction by "Optimus Prime" (not voiced by Peter Cullen) and shows a few bits of product. There is also a countdown clock for the release of the toys. As time goes along I'm sure a ton more content will be added that will make fans drool!

New "Transformers Universe" video at Monkeybar TV

Hasbro's media site Monkeybar TV has posted a new video in its "Transformers Universe" series. This video features Optimus Prime and Bumblebee taking on Megatron and Cyclonus as a rabbit watches on. Seriously.

Classics Legends Class Fireflight and Leo Prime reviewed

Tonight brings two new reviews. First up is a reincarnation of an Aerialbot in a new form: Fireflight! Next up is a character who has influences from "Beast Wars the Second" but was first introduced in Classics: Leo Prime. These reviews and many others are available for viewing in the Classics toy review page.

Hasbro continues its march into the entertainment industry

Hasbro, the makers of "Transformers" and tons of other toy products has been chipping away at the goal of becoming not only a toy company, but an entertainment company as well. On April 30th they announced one of their biggest steps towards this goal, the launching of a new TV network. Says Marketwatch "Under the 50-50 joint venture, Discovery will handle advertising sales and distribution, while Hasbro will provide studio-produced programming. Hasbro said it is forming a creative team to create content around Tonka, G.I.

LA Times: Revenge of the Fallen to be "mother of all robot-on-robot" violence

The LA Times has interviewed "Revenge of the Fallen" writers Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci. They discuss a tiny bit of "The Fallen's" motivation and whether Soundwave will transform into a cassette player. Check out the full article here.

Botcon 2009 Guests: David Kaye, Greg Berger, Weird Al Yankovic and more!

The Official Botcon web site has posted news on guests attending this year's celebration of our favorite Robots in Disguise. David Kaye, who has voiced both Optimus Prime and Megatron(s) over the years will be in attendance on Saturday. Also coming Saturday is "Weird Al" Yankovic who first became part of "Transformers" culture in 1986's animated "Transformers: The Movie" film which featured his song "Dare to be Stupid". More recently he voiced Wreck-Gar in "Transformers Animated".

Revenge is coming...to Burger King!

With the release of "Revenge of the Fallen" fast approaching, announcements of promotional tie-ins have begun as well. Burger King has released a press release detailing its Transformers promotion. The promotion will include a contest which includes food prices and a chance to win a 2010 Camaro. Toy collectors won't be left out in the cold as kids meals will come with Transformers figures as well!
